Making the Swimsuit
Top: Wrap the black yarn around three fingers 7 times, then work single crochet (sc) sts around the resulting ring.
Cup: Work the 12 sts of this ring as follows: Row 1 — 12 dc. Row 2 — *dc, ch 1*, repeat *-*. Rows 3-4 — *dc, ch 2*. Rows 5-7 — *dc, ch 3*. Row 8 — work 3 dc into each space. Rows 9-16 — work dc with the lurex yarn. Row 17 — work with black yarn: *dc, ch 2, skip 2 base sts*. Rows 18-19 — *dc, ch 2*. Row 20 — *dc, ch 1*. Row 21 — dc. Row 22 — decrease sts by half (work 2 dc together).
On the other side of the starting ring, work a second cup to match, symmetrically.
Joining the Top and Bottom of the Swimsuit
Along the lower edge of the ring, work 8 dc.
Rows 2-6 — *dc, ch 1*.
Rows 7-12 — *dc, ch 2*.
Rows 13-18 — *dc, ch 3*.
Rows 19-22 — *dc, ch 4*.
Bottom: With black yarn, chain 9, then work 25 rows of dc, increasing 1 st at the beginning and end of each row until you have 17 dc. Then work 2 rows of dc with the lurex yarn. On the other side of the starting chain, work 9 dc.
Rows 2-4 — decrease 1 st on each side of every row = 3 sts.
Rows 5-7 — dc.
Rows 8-15 — increase 1 st at the beginning of each row.
Rows 6-20 — dc, increasing 2 sts at the beginning of each row.
Edge the entire bottom piece with black yarn in sc. Sew the top to the bottom. Attach ribbon ties on the sides.
Making the Wrap Skirt
With the lurex yarn, chain 30. Row 1 — work dc. Row 2 — *dc, ch 2, skip 1 base st*, repeat *-*. Continue repeating Rows 1-2 until the piece measures 90 cm (or your desired length). Then along the top edge work *dc, ch 2* into each row, and along the bottom edge work *5 dc in 1 row, skip 1 row*. Thread ribbon through the top edge between the stitches.
