Sizes: 36/38 (40/42) 44/46
For the pullover you will need:
- 450 (500) 550 g turquoise Mare yarn (40% viscose, 30% linen, 30% cotton, 110 m/50 g);
- 200 (200) 250 g white Gracia yarn (70% cotton, 17% viscose, 13% polyamide, 115 m/50 g);
- straight knitting needles, 5 mm and 5.5 mm;
- circular needles, 4.5 mm, 60 cm long.
Stitch Patterns
Rib: alternate k2, p2.
Wave pattern: work according to the chart, which shows both right-side and wrong-side rows.
Letters indicate colors: A = turquoise for rows 1-4, B = white for rows 5-8.
On right-side rows, begin after the selvage st with 0 (3) 0 sts before the first arrow, repeat the 12-st pattern repeat between the arrows, and end with 6 (9) 6 sts after the second arrow plus selvage st.
Distribute the stitches symmetrically on wrong-side rows accordingly.
Repeat rows 1-8.
Gauge, wave pattern, 5.5 mm needles: 17 sts and 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Knitting the Pullover
Back
With 5 mm needles and turquoise yarn, cast on 78 (82) 86 sts and work 7 cm = 19 rows in rib, starting with 1 wrong-side row and with 1 purl st after the selvage st.
On the last row of rib, increase evenly by 2 (4) 6 crossed sts made from the horizontal strand = 80 (86) 92 sts.
Then switch to 5.5 mm needles and work in wave pattern.
After 40 cm = 88 rows from the rib, bind off 6 sts at each side for the armholes and continue working the yoke in wave pattern, but in turquoise yarn only = 68 (74) 80 sts.
When the armhole measures 8 (10) 12 cm = 18 (22) 26 rows, place all stitches on hold for the neckband.
Front: work the same way.
Sleeves
With 5 mm needles and turquoise yarn, cast on 50 sts and work 9 cm = 23 rows in rib, starting with 1 wrong-side row and with 1 purl st after the selvage st.
On the last row of rib, increase evenly by 6 (12) 12 crossed sts made from the horizontal strand = 56 (62) 62 sts.
Then switch to 5.5 mm needles and work in wave pattern, distributing the stitches for size 44/46 as for size 40/42, i.e. begin with 3 sts before the first arrow and end with 9 sts after the second arrow.
After 40 cm = 88 rows from the rib, bind off 6 sts at each side for the armholes and continue working the yoke in wave pattern in turquoise yarn only = 44 (50) 50 sts.
When the yoke measures 8 (10) 12 cm = 18 (22) 26 rows, place all stitches on hold.
Finishing
Transfer the held stitches to circular needles: 68 (74) 80 sts of the back, 44 (50) 50 sts of the left sleeve, 68 (74) 80 sts of the front and 44 (50) 50 sts of the right sleeve = 224 (248) 260 sts, and work the neckband in rounds of rib, decreasing evenly by 40 (56) 64 sts on the 1st round = 184 (192) 196 sts.
When the neckband measures 8.5 cm, bind off in pattern, working the purl-stitch stripes as p2tog to narrow the edge.
Sew the seams and set in the sleeves.
Knitting tip: to keep the neckline narrow, you can thread elastic thread through the last round of the neckband on the wrong side; it will hold the neckline in shape for a long time.
