Stitch Patterns and Charts

Ribbing

Number of stitches is a multiple of 4 + 2 edge stitches. Begin and end every row with 1 edge stitch.

* 1 purl, 2 knit, 1 purl, repeat from * across. On wrong-side rows, work stitches as they appear.

Main Pattern

Alternate 1 row of single crochet (sc) and 1 row of treble crochet (tr), beginning each row with 1 or 4 turning chains instead of the first sc or first tr, respectively, and ending with 1 sc or 1 tr worked into the top turning chain.

Gauge

15 sts x 20.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in ribbing;

10.5 sts x 4 rows = 10 x 6.5 cm, worked in main pattern (1 row of tr = 2.5 cm; 1 row of sc = 0.75 cm).

Note! The pullover is worked crosswise, from sleeve to sleeve. Arrows on the schematic show the direction of work.

Instructions

Starting with the left sleeve, cast on 30 (34) 38 sts and work the cuff in ribbing. After 17.5 cm from the initial row, bind off all stitches in pattern.

Work along the bound-off edge in the main pattern, working 30 (32) 34 sts in row 1.

To shape the sleeve width, in row 3 from the cuff double every stitch = 60 (64) 68 sts. The width increase is shown on the schematic as a slanted line.

For the side edge of the back and front, after 26 cm = 16 rows from the cuff, cast on 1 x 12 (13) 15 sts on both sides and continue in pattern = 84 (90) 98 sts.

After 37.5 cm = 23 rows (41 cm = 25 rows) 42 cm = 26 rows from the cuff, divide the work in the middle for the neckline and continue both sides separately.

At the end of row 31 (33) 35, the middle of the work is reached.

After 61.5 cm = 38 rows (65 cm = 40 rows) 70 cm = 43 rows from the cuff, work all stitches together again as one piece.

For the side edge of the back and front, after 73 cm = 45 rows (80 cm = 49 rows) 86 cm = 53 rows from the cuff, drop 1 x 12 (13) 15 sts on both sides = 60 (64) 68 sts.

To decrease the sleeve width, after 94 cm = 58 rows (101 cm = 62 rows) 107 cm = 66 rows from the cuff, work 2 sts together throughout the next row 59 (63) 67 = 30 (32) 34 sts.

After 99 cm = 61 rows (106 cm = 65 rows) 112 cm = 69 rows from the cuff, finish the work.

For the sleeve cuff, pick up 30 (34) 38 sts from the last row and work in ribbing. After 17.5 cm from the start of the cuff, bind off all stitches in pattern.

Finishing

Sew the side seams and sleeve seams.
