Instructions

Back

Chain 112 sts + 3 turning ch and work in pattern 1. For shaping, decrease on both sides in every 2nd row 11 x 1 st = 90 sts. After 33 cm = 33 rows from the starting row, increase again on both sides 1 x 1 st, then in every row 7 x 1 st = 106 sts.

After 40 cm = 40 rows from the starting row, work 3.5 cm = 2 rows in pattern 4. Then leave 8 sts on each side for the armholes and continue working only on the center 90 sts in pattern 2, decreasing 1 st in the 1st row = 89 sts (8 repeats).

After 15 cm = 12 rows from the pattern change and start of the armholes, leave the center 4 repeats for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

After 17.5 cm = 14 rows from the pattern change, finish the piece.

Left Front

Chain 56 sts + 3 turning ch and work in pattern 1, starting at arrow A. For shaping, work decreases along the right edge as for the back = 53 sts.

After 40 cm = 40 rows from the starting row, work 3 cm = 2 rows in pattern 4. Then continue in pattern 3. For the neckline shaping, after 2.5 cm = 2 rows from the pattern change, leave 1 x 1/2 repeat unworked along the left edge, then in every 2nd row leave another 3 x 1/2 repeat unworked. Finish the remaining 2 repeats at the same height as the back.

Right Front

Work as for the left front but mirror-image, starting pattern 1 from arrow B.

Sleeves

Chain 50 sts and work in pattern 3. For the sleeve shaping, increase in every 2nd row 3 x 1 st, then in every 3rd row 13 x 1 st according to the pattern = 84 sts. After 45 cm = 47 rows from the starting row, work another 3.5 cm = 2 rows in pattern 4. Finish the piece.

Finishing

Sew the shoulder seams. Set in the sleeves, sew the side seams and sleeve seams.

Work 1 row of pattern 2 around the neckline, front edges, and bottom of the jacket. Also work 1 row of pattern 2 around the bottom of the sleeves.

Join the yarn at the top edge of the left front, chain 5 sts, and work it into a button loop. Sew the button to the right front in the corresponding spot.
