Begin by outlining your design using a running stitch or a split stitch.
Take two strands of thread. For the first row on the berry, use a dark red color and embroider with alternating short and long stitches. As you approach the leaf, move to the second row. At the edge, the stitches will naturally form a staggered, step-like pattern.
Next, move on to the third row, bringing the needle just outside the contour line. Remember, all stitches should be of varying lengths to create a smooth gradient effect. In the following row, take a lighter shade of red thread and continue embroidering with short and long stitches. Avoid stitching too densely—you need to leave enough space to seamlessly blend another color between the stitches later.
Take your next thread color and begin embroidering the fourth row of your design. For the leaves, use a light green thread to complete the strawberry.
