  • 700 g of “Dyuchi” yarn (50% wool, 50% acrylic, 50 g/80 m);
  • 4.5 mm needles;
  • crochet hook size 3.

Knitting the Cardigan

The cardigan body is knit following Chart 1, with the yoke worked in 1×1 rib.

Gauge: 16 sts x 21 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm.

Back. Cast on 94 sts and work 15 cm following Chart 1. For shaping, decrease 1 st on each side every 6th row 5 times, work 8 rows even, then increase 1 st on each side every 3rd row 6 times. At a height of 38 cm, bind off for the armholes every other row: 4, 2, 1 sts. After 20 cm, bind off the shoulder stitches in 3 stages: 8, 8, 7 sts, while at the same time binding off the center 18 sts for the neckline, then 5, 4 sts on each side.

Front. Cast on 35 sts and work in the main pattern. To round the front edge, increase at the center edge every other row using an additional cast-on: 7, 5, 3 sts. Work the waist shaping and armhole as for the back. At the same time as the armhole shaping, decrease 1 st at the center edge for the neckline. After 20 cm, bind off the remaining shoulder stitches. Knit the second front to match, reversing shaping.

Sleeve. Cast on 46 sts and work in the main pattern, increasing 1 st on each side 8 times, evenly spaced. For the sleeve cap, decrease on each side as follows: 3, 2 sts, then 18 x 1 st, then 2 sts, and 3 sts. Bind off the remaining stitches in one step.

Yoke. Along the neckline edge of each front, pick up 46 sts and work with 2 balls of yarn in 1×1 rib, decreasing 1 st at the center edge 12 times and 9 times at the shoulder edge of the front. Once you reach the shoulder, pick up 48 sts along the back neckline between the two fronts and work as a single piece for 8 cm, decreasing 1 st on each side. Then bind off all stitches.

Flower. On a chain of 30 cm, work 2 single crochet sts into each chain stitch. Work several rows, gather into a ring, pull tight, secure, and sew to the front of the cardigan.

Finishing. Sew all pieces together. Edge with a crochet reverse single crochet (“crab stitch”).
