Instructions

Back

Chain 92 (102) 112 sts + 3 turning ch and work in pattern 2. For shaping decreases, in row 24 from the starting row work 1 ch less in each repeat, i.e. only 4 instead of 5 ch, and work 4 dc over them in the next row = 83 (92) 101 sts. Repeat these decreases in row 32 from the starting row = 74 (82) 90 sts.

At 54.5 cm = 49 rows from the starting row, skip 4 sts on both sides for the armholes, then in each following row decrease 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st = 54 (62) 70 sts.

At 59 cm = 53 rows from the starting row, set the work aside.

Left Front

Chain 43 (50) 54 sts + 3 turning ch and work in pattern 2, working 1 or 2 dc more along the left edge of the work for sizes 1 and 3, and 1 dc less on both sides for size 2.

Work the shaping decreases inside the lace pattern and the armhole along the right edge as for the back = 25 (30) 34 sts.

At 59 cm = 53 rows from the starting row, set the work aside.

Right Front

Work the same as the left front, but mirrored, distributing the pattern in mirror image as well.

Sleeves

For each sleeve, chain 52 (62) 72 sts + 3 turning ch and work in the lace pattern.

At 3.5 cm = 3 rows from the starting row, skip 4 sts on both sides, then in each following row decrease 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st = 32 (42) 52 sts.

At 8 cm = 7 rows from the starting row, set the work aside.

Finishing

For the round yoke, bring all pieces back into work = 168 (206) 242 sts, corresponding to 25 (30) 34 sts of the right front, 32 (42) 52 sts of the right sleeve, 54 (62) 70 sts of the back, 32 (42) 52 sts of the left sleeve, and 25 (30) 34 sts of the left front.

Continue in double crochet pattern, working the outer dc of the separate pieces together in row 1 = 164 (202) 238 sts.

For shaping, in row 3 from the start of the dc pattern, work every 11th + 12th st together 13 (16) 19 times = 151 (186) 219 sts.

In row 5, work every 10th + 11th st together 13 (16) 19 times; in row 7, every 9th + 10th st together 13 (19) 22 times; in row 9, every 8th + 9th st together 13 (18) 21 times; in row 11, every 6th + 7th st together 13 (16) 19 times; in row 12, every 5th + 6th st together 13 (19) 23 times; and in row 13, every 4th + 5th st together 13 (19) 23 times = 73 (79) 92 sts.

For size 2, work 2 more rows, decreasing 6 sts evenly spaced in row 2; for size 3, work 3 more rows, decreasing 10 and 9 sts evenly spaced in rows 2 and 3 respectively = 73 sts.

Next, for the hood, continue working straight, marking the center 3 sts in row 1. Then increase 3 x 1 dc on both sides of the markers every 2nd row = 79 sts.

At 37 cm from the marker, end the work.

Sew the hood seam. Sew the sleeve seams, side seams, and armhole seams.

Work 1 row of sc and crab stitch (= sc worked from left to right) around the front edges, including the hood. Finish the sleeve edges the same way.
