Stitches and Charts
Motif Square
Work in the round following the chart.
For the first square, make a chain of 8 sts and join with a slip stitch into a ring. Work 4 rounds following the chart, starting each round with the indicated number of chain sts instead of the first stitch and ending with a slip stitch into the last chain of the turning chain. If needed, move to the start of the next round with a slip stitch.
Then attach a new working thread to the chain arch (see arrow) and work rows A–D along 2 edges.
To finish, work round 5 following the chart around the whole square.
Work all remaining squares the same way.

Layout of the Motif Squares
The squares are arranged asymmetrically in the pullover, with the motif facing different directions. This layout is shown in the motif plan, where the flower is shown as a circle.
Joining the Squares
Crochet the squares separately and join them with zigzag lines. To do this, attach the light green thread at the bottom corner of a square, work 1 ch, 1 slip stitch at the same height into the corner of the neighboring square, * 1 ch, skip 1 stitch and work 1 slip stitch into the next stitch of the first square, 1 ch, skip 1 stitch and work 1 slip stitch into the next stitch of the neighboring square, repeat from * to the end of the edges being joined.
The joining row is narrow and not included in the schematic.
Gauge
1 square = 14 x 14 cm.
