Schematic

Instructions

Dress

With coral yarn, make a starting chain of 102 (120) 138 ch, join with a slip stitch into a ring, then work in rounds. Round 1 = work 0.5 cm in sc.

Then divide the stitches: back stitches and front stitches = 51 (60) 69 sts each.

Work the pieces separately from here on.

Back

Work in rows back and forth in sc, leaving 1 x 2 sts unworked on both sides in row 1 for the armholes, then leave 3 x 1 st unworked in each row.

After 5 (7) 9 cm from the start of the armholes, leave the center stitch unworked for the slit (divide the stitches in the middle of the work), finish the sides separately.

After 9.5 (11.5) 13.5 cm from the start of the armholes, leave unworked at the inner edge for the neckline 1 x 6 (8) 10 sts, then in each row 2 x 2 sts and 2 x 1 st.

After 12 (14) 16 cm from the start of the armholes, finish the piece.

Front

Work the same as the back, but without a slit and with a deeper neckline. To do this, after 5 (7) 9 cm from the start of the armholes, leave the center 7 (10) 15 sts unworked.

Finish the shoulders separately, leaving unworked at the neckline edge in each row 1 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st.

Finish the piece at the same height as the back.

Skirt

Work on the starting row of the top part, at the center back, in rounds of the stripe pattern = repeat the pattern repeat 17 (20) 23 times, working only 2 dc instead of the group of 6 dc.

For the skirt shaping, work 5 increases every 4th (5th) 6th row as follows:

1st increase: instead of the group of 2 dc, work 3 dc continuously.

2nd increase: instead of the group of 3 dc, work 4 dc.

3rd increase: instead of the group of 4 dc, work 5 dc continuously.

4th increase: instead of the group of 5 dc, work 6 dc continuously.

5th increase: instead of the group of 6 dc, work 7 dc continuously.

After 25 (29) 33 cm from the start of the Shell pattern, finish the work after round 3.

Finishing

Lightly dampen and stretch the pieces according to the measurements given in the schematic, leave to dry completely.

Sew the shoulder seams.

Work 1 round of crab stitch (= sc worked from left to right) in coral around the armholes, neckline, and slit edges, and along the right side of the slit make 2 button loops at even intervals – skip 2 sts with 3 ch.

Sew the buttons onto the left edge of the slit to match the loops.

Lightly steam all seams when finished.

Hat

With coral yarn, make a starting chain of 5 ch, join with 1 slip stitch into a ring, then work in rounds. Close each round with 1 slip stitch into the top of the turning chain.

Row 1: 3 turning chains instead of the first dc, * 1 ch, 1 dc, repeat from * 7 (8) 9 times, 1 ch, 1 slip stitch into the top of the turning chain = 9 (10) 11 dc.

Row 2: 3 turning chains instead of the first dc, * work 2 dc into the next chain of the previous round, repeat from * 7 (8) 9 times, work 1 dc into the next chain of the previous round, 1 slip stitch into the top of the turning chain = 18 (20) 22 dc.

Row 3: 3 turning chains instead of the first dc, * skip 1 st of the previous round, work 1 dc into the next stitch, 1 ch and 1 dc, repeat from * 7 (8) 9 times, skip 1 st of the previous round, work 1 dc and 1 ch into the next st, 1 slip stitch into the top of the turning chain = 18 (20) 22 dc.

Row 4: 3 turning chains instead of the first dc, * work 3 dc into the next chain of the previous round, work 1 dc between the next 2 dc of the previous round, repeat from * 7 (8) 9 times, work 3 dc into the next chain of the previous round, 1 slip stitch into the top of the turning chain = 36 (40) 44 dc.

Row 5: 3 turning chains instead of the first dc, * skip 1 st of the previous round, work 1 dc into the next st, 1 ch and 1 dc, repeat from * 16 (17) 18 times, skip 1 st of the previous round, work 1 dc and 1 ch into the next st, 1 slip stitch into the top of the turning chain = 36 (40) 44 dc + 18 (20) 22 ch = 54 (60) 66 sts.

Continue working in rounds in the Shell pattern = repeat the pattern repeat 9 (10) 11 times, working 2 dc instead of the group of 6 dc in round 1, 3 dc instead of the group of 2 dc in round 3, and 5 dc instead of the group of 3 dc in round 5.

Repeat rounds 4 + 5 another 4 (5) 6 times.

To finish, work 1 more round of sc and end the work.

Finishing: With white yarn, make 1 flower and sew it onto the hat.
