Instructions

Back

Begin working in 3 sections: for the side pieces, with white yarn chain 31 (34) 37 sts + 3 turning ch; for the middle piece, chain 37 (40) 43 sts + 3 turning ch, and work in main pattern.

After 14 cm from the starting row, work all 3 pieces as one piece = 99 (108) 117 sts.

After 49 (49) 47 cm from the starting row, leave 11 sts on each side for the armholes.

On the remaining 77 (86) 95 sts, finish the work after 54 cm from the starting row.

Front

Work as for the back.

Finishing

Sew the side seams, leaving the lower 14 cm open for slits.

Edge the lower hem and the slit edges with 1 round of single crochet (sc) in white yarn; edge the top of the back and the armholes with 1 row of sc in pink yarn.

Sew the squares into the slits, attaching them along the chain arches at the corners and between the two middle sc sts on each side of the square.

Edge the top edge of the front on the wrong side with 1 row of front post double crochet (FPdc) in white yarn (= dc, inserting the hook from behind around the dc of the previous row), then work the border in pink yarn, evenly skipping 0 (9) 3 sts in row 1 = 77 (86) 92 sts.

Sew the diamond-shaped straps to the outer 2 cm of the top edges of the front and back.
