20 sc (= 4 shells) x 8 rounds = 10 x 10 cm, worked in “shell” stitch pattern with a 3.5 mm hook.
Attention! The yoke and waistband are knitted in two pieces from the top down. The skirt body is crocheted in rounds starting from the yoke. Arrows on the chart show the direction of work.

Instructions
Back of the Yoke
Cast on 95 (105) 115 (125) sts and, starting with 1 purl row, work 5.5 cm (= 19 rows) in stockinette stitch for the waistband.
Continue in stockinette stitch, increasing for the shaping 1 st on each side once in row 1, then increase 1 st on each side every 8th row 6 times = 109 (119) 129 (139) sts on the needles.
After 26 cm (= 91 rows) from the waistband, or 31.5 cm (= 110 rows) from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches loosely.
Front of the Yoke
Work the same as the back of the yoke.
Skirt
Sew the side seams of the yoke using mattress stitch (the edge stitches will be absorbed into the seam).
Crochet 1 round of sc around the lower edge of the yoke as follows: work a slip stitch into the 3rd stitch to the left of the side seam, ch 2 instead of the first sc, and work 1 sc into each stitch of the bound-off edge, skipping every 15th (16th) 18th (19th) stitch 14 times = 200 (220) 240 (260) sc total; close the round with a slip stitch.
Continue working in “shell” stitch pattern = 40 (44) 48 (52) shells in each round. After 40 cm (= 32 rounds) of the shell pattern, or once the desired skirt length is reached, finish the work.
Finishing
Fold the waistband to the inside. Measure the elastic and sew it into a ring. Place the elastic under the waistband and sew the cast-on edge of the waistband down from the inside with overcast stitches.
