Patterns and Charts

Square

Chain 8 sts and join into a ring with 1 slip stitch.

Work in rounds according to the chart, starting each round with the given number of chain sts instead of the first stitch, and ending with 1 slip stitch or 1 double crochet into the top of the starting chain or into the top of the stitches worked together. If needed, move to the start of the next round with a slip stitch.

Work rounds 1–10 once.

Work every following square the same way, joining it to the previous square(s) in round 10. To do this, work 1 single crochet around the corresponding chain arch of the adjoining square, into the center chain of the arch.

The chart shows 2 squares with the joining points. Where several square corners meet, work extra joining stitches into the first joining stitch.
