Stitch Patterns and Charts

Main Pattern

Number of stitches is a multiple of 3 + 2.

Work according to the chart. Begin with the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern repeat continuously, and end with the stitches after the repeat.

Work rows 1-3 once, then repeat rows 2 and 3 continuously.

Note! The starting and ending stitches in the instructions are calculated as 1 repeat + 1 edge dc.

Instructions

For the left sleeve, using olive (blue-green) mustard yarn, make a chain of 44 (50) 56 ch + 3 turning ch and work in main pattern according to stripe sequence A (B) C = 14 (16) 18 repeats + 1 edge dc on each side.

For the sleeve slants, increase on both sides after 26.5 cm = 20 rows from the starting row: after and before the edge dc in the following right-side row, increase 1 x 2 sts (= 1 puff stitch + 1 ch), and in the following wrong-side row increase 2 sts (= 1 dc + 1 ch), so that 1 repeat is added on both sides over 2 rows. Repeat these increases every 18 rows 9 more times = 34 (36) 38 repeats + 1 edge dc on each side.

For the back, after 53.5 cm = at the end of row 40, using blue-green (mustard) olive yarn, make a chain of 57 (60) 63 ch + 3 turning ch.

For the left front, using a separate strand of blue-green (mustard) olive yarn, make a chain of 57 (60) 63 ch and attach it to the 3rd turning ch of row 40.

Starting with 1 right-side row, continue working across all stitches in main pattern according to the stripe sequence = 72 (76) 80 repeats + 1 edge dc on each side.

For reference, mark the center (= shoulder line) after the edge dc and 36 (38) 40 repeats.

After 66.5 cm = 50 rows (69.5 cm = 52 rows) 69.5 cm = 52 rows from the starting row, continue for the back neckline, working first only on the edge dc + 35 (37) 39 repeats + 1 new edge dc, skipping 1 repeat at the inner edge for the neckline.

After 9.5 cm = 7 rows (9.5 cm = 7 rows) 12 cm = 9 rows from the start of the neckline shaping (= after 1 row in mustard yarn), or after 76 cm = 57 rows (79 cm = 59 rows) 81.5 cm = 61 rows from the starting row, the center back is reached.

Then finish the jacket as a mirror image; to do this, after the wrong-side row in mustard yarn, continue for all sizes according to the pattern and stripe sequence D.

After 19 cm = 14 rows (19 cm = 14 rows) 24 cm = 18 rows from the start of the neckline shaping, leave the stitches.

For the front neckline, after the 3rd repeat from the center, start with a new yarn and continue working on the last 33 (35) 37 repeats + edge dc in pattern 1 according to the stripe sequence.

Starting from row 2, decrease along the inner edge for the neckline slant in every row 6 times, alternating 1 x 1 repeat and 1 x 2 repeats (= at the beginning of the row skip by working slip stitches, at the end of the row skip); then for size 3, decrease an additional 2 x 1 repeat in every row.

After 9.5 cm = 7 rows (9.5 cm = 7 rows) 12 cm = 9 rows from the start of the neckline shaping, finish work on the remaining 24 (26) 26 repeats + edge dc.

For the right front, using mustard yarn, make a chain of 74 (80) 80 ch + 3 turning ch and work row 2 (= wrong-side row) of the main pattern once = 24 (26) 26 repeats + 1 edge dc on each side.

At the end of the 1st mustard wrong-side row, using olive yarn, make a chain of 6 (6) 3 ch for the neckline slant and continue working in pattern 1 according to stripe sequence D, incorporating the new chain into the pattern = 26 (28) 27 repeats + 1 edge dc on each side.

To continue the neckline slant, increase at the end of every following wrong-side row by 2 (2) 3 x 3 repeats: work 1 dc + 2 ch + 1 dc around the turning ch (= edge dc) of the previous row, then make another chain of 6 ch in the next color and, in the following right-side row, work 2 repeats around it = 32 (34) 36 repeats + 1 edge dc.

At the end of row 7 (7) 9 (= wrong-side row) from the starting row, increase 1 repeat in the same way and, using olive yarn, make a chain of 9 ch, then attach it to the 3rd turning ch of the last row of the back.

Then finish the jacket across all stitches in one piece as a mirror image, decreasing the inner edge dc (= skip it) and continuing in stripe sequence D.

Finishing

Sew the side seams and sleeve seams.

Work around the front edges and neckline with olive yarn in 1 row of sc and 1 row of crab stitch (= sc worked from left to right); on the right front, work 5 buttonholes as follows: work 4 ch, skipping 2 sc of the previous row accordingly. Place the top buttonhole directly below the neckline slant, and space the next 4 buttonholes 9 (10) 10 cm apart. Sew on the buttons.
