VIDEO TUTORIAL: Christmas Star Ribbon Embroidery

Today, we will be embroidering a festive Christmas star using ribbons, a perfect craft project for beginners. First, outline the design on your fabric using a special water-soluble washable marker.

For the candle, take a 25 mm wide white ribbon, thread it onto your needle, and pull it through from the back of the canvas to create the body of the candle. Next, take a small piece of yellow ribbon to form the candle’s flame. Since the center of the flame usually has a warmer glow, take a small piece of red ribbon and stitch it securely into the middle. Remember to fasten and secure the ends of your ribbons on the reverse side of the fabric using ordinary sewing thread.

For the lower petals of the Christmas star, we recommend using a beautiful 24 mm red sheer (nylon) ribbon, though a standard red satin ribbon will work wonderfully as well.
