You will need:
- yarn in three (seven) colors;
- 2.5-3 mm knitting needles;
- a needle with a wide eye.
Cast on 25 sts. Work in garter stitch. Change color every two rows:
- Rows 1-2 – first color
- Rows 3-4 – second color
- Rows 5-6 – third color, and so on
The knitting pattern is as follows: in every 2nd row, increase 1 st at the beginning of the needle and decrease 1 st at the end of the needle.
Knit 60 rows (this way, each color will repeat 10 times). If knitting a seven-color ball, each color should repeat 4 times (56 rows total).
Sew the top and bottom together. Then gather one edge onto a thread and pull tight. Stuff the ball. You can place a plastic Kinder Surprise container inside, filled beforehand with a little dried peas or beans for rattling. Gather the open edge onto a thread and pull tight.
