You will need for one cube:
- yarn in 4 colors: 1 pastel and 3 different natural shades;
- 3 mm and 3.5 mm crochet hooks;
- lining fabric, 10 cm;
- a piece of cardboard 8 x 48 cm or the same total area;
- polyester stuffing;
- needle and thread for sewing.
Gauge: each square is approximately 8 x 8 cm.
Making the Cube
Using a 3.5 mm hook, crochet 6 squares following the chart:

Finishing
Pin each square and press with an iron.
Using one square as a pattern, cut 6 squares of the same size from cardboard and 6 from lining fabric, adding 1 cm for seams.
Sew the fabric squares together to form a cube, leaving one side open. Insert the cardboard inside to reinforce the sides, then stuff with polyester. Sew the open side closed.
With a 3 mm hook and yarn, hold 2 crocheted squares wrong sides together and join them along one edge with sc.
Join 2 more squares the same way to form a strip; join the first and last squares to form a ring. Matching the corners carefully, add a fifth square to the ring to form an open box. Insert the fabric cube inside and finish the piece by attaching the last crocheted square the same way.
