Instructions
Using pink yarn, work 8 half double crochet sts into a magic ring, then increase the stitch count for the toe to 44 (44) 48 sts as described in the Tutorial. Continue in the main pattern, working the “Big Heart” motif from the chart over the center 11 sts of the top of the foot. * After finishing the chart, work 2 rounds in pink yarn, then work another “Big Heart” motif. Repeat from * once more.
At the same time, when the foot length reaches 18 (19) 20 cm from the start of the work, work increases for the heel and instep on both sides of the center stitches as described in the Tutorial: increase 4 sts, 6 (6) 7 times each row = 68 (68) 76 sts. Then, using pink yarn, work back and forth in rows over 15 (15) 17 sts as described in the Tutorial to form the heel wall – work a total of 19 (19) 21 rows for the wall.
After finishing the heel, work the upper part of the sock in the round in the main pattern with pink yarn, decreasing a total of 4 (4) 6 sts over the first two rounds as described in the Tutorial = 44 (44) 48 sts.
After 10 rows from the start of the sock top, work the heart pattern motif from the chart, evenly increasing 4 (4) 0 sts in row 1 = 48 sts. After finishing the chart, work 2 more rows in the main pattern. Then begin the edging of the top of the sock: 1 chain, * 2 sc, skip 4 sts with 5 chain, repeat from * 7 more times, finish with a slip stitch into the first sc. Then work 1 chain and continue: * 1 sc into each of the next 2 sts, into the next chain arch work 3 sc, 1 picot (= 3 chain and 1 sc back into the 1st chain), and 3 sc, repeat from * 7 more times and finish the round with a slip stitch into the first sc.
Work the left sock the same way.
