Into the same stitch, work 3 double crochets, ch 1, then 3 double crochets again (2 groups of 3 dc with 1 ch between them).
Element B
Into the same stitch, work 4 double crochets, ch 2, then 4 double crochets again (2 groups of 4 dc with 2 ch between them).
Important! The piece is worked in crochet from the top down; the fabric should not be worked too tightly.
Gauge
6 repeats of 2 dc with 1 ch between them (17 sts) = 9 cm.
Instructions
Make a starting chain of 112 (126) ch and join into a ring with a sl st. Work 2 rows of hdc (the circumference should measure approx. 71 (80) cm). Then continue in the lace pattern.
Row 1: *ch 3, skip 1 st, 1 hdc in next st*, repeat from * to * around = 56 (63) chain arches.
Row 2: ch 4, *work 1 Element A into the 1st chain arch, **ch 1, 2 dc into the next chain arch**, repeat from ** to ** a total of 6 times, end with ch 1*. Repeat from * to * around = 8 (9) times. Close the row with a sl st into the 3rd of the 4 ch at the beginning of the row (all following rows end the same way).
Rows 3, 4, and 5: ch 4, *1 Element A into the chain space of the corresponding element in the previous row, **ch 1, 2 dc into the 2 dc of the previous row**, repeat from ** to ** a total of 6 times, end with ch 1*. Repeat from * to * around = 8 (9) times.
Row 6: ch 4, *1 Element A into the chain space of the corresponding element in the previous row, **ch 1, 1 dc into the first dc of the previous row, 1 dc into the space before the next dc, 1 dc into the last dc = 3 dc worked into the 2 dc of the previous row**, repeat from ** to ** a total of 6 times, end with ch 1*. Repeat from * to * around = 8 (9) times.
Rows 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12: work as row 6.
Row 13: ch 4, *1 Element B into the chain space of the corresponding element in the previous row, **ch 1, 3 dc into the 3 dc of the previous row**, repeat from ** to ** a total of 6 times, end with ch 1*. Repeat from * to * around = 8 (9) times.
Rows 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20: work as row 13.
Row 21: work 1 hdc into each stitch, including the chain stitches.
