Size: 44
You will need:
- 80 g of yellow yarn;
- 30 g of black yarn;
- a set of double-pointed needles, size 4 mm.
Knitting technique: circular knitting on double-pointed needles.
Gauge: loose.

Knitting the Pieces
Hat Base
Cast on 96 sts. Work 10 rows in rib stitch. Begin working in stockinette stitch, switching to the other color yarn at the same time. Work 4 rows in this color, then switch to the other color and work 4 rows with it as well. Continue in this way to the end of the crown, alternating stripes. All stripes are the same, 4 rows each. Finish knitting the crown when, upon trying it on, the hat comes together at the top. Finish on the 4th row of a stripe.
Earflaps
Now work on the first and second needles. Set the third and fourth needles aside for now. That is, we will make the first earflap. Here we knit not in the round, but in knit and purl rows. We’ll call the first needle the one that comes first after the threads cross. This is where we get the seam at the back of the head.
Now, the decreases for shaping the earflap. Row 1: bind off 2 sts at the beginning and end of the row (2*2). Row 2: reverse stockinette stitch. Row 3: bind off 2 sts at the beginning and end of the row (2*2). Row 4: reverse stockinette stitch. Row 5: bind off 1 st at the beginning and end of the row (1*1). Row 6: reverse stockinette stitch. Repeat rows 5 and 6 until 4 sts remain on the needle. Bind off. Cut the yarn. Move on to the second earflap and knit it the same way.
Finishing and Assembly
Sew the seams on the earflaps using a tapestry needle. Make pom-poms from yellow yarn and sew them to the ends of the earflaps. If you like, you can knit the hat in other colors as well.
