You Will Need
- Yarn (96% cotton, 4% polyester, 160 m/50 g) – 100 (150) 150 g white and 50 g blue
- Crochet hooks size 4 mm and 5 mm
Patterns and Charts
Double Crochet (dc)
Work in rounds; begin each round with 3 ch (counts as 1st dc) and end with 1 sl st in the top of the turning chain.
Ruffle
Work round 1 in white yarn. Join yarn to the corresponding round: 1 ch, * skip 3 sts, 9 tr in next st, skip 3 sts, 1 sc in next st, repeat from * around, skip 3 sts, 9 tr in next st, skip 3 sts, join with 1 sl st to the beginning ch.
Round 2: work in blue yarn. Join yarn to the corresponding round: 1 ch, then work 1 sc in each st of the previous round, join with 1 sl st to the beginning ch.
Arches
* 1 sl st, skip 2 sts, work 5 sc in next st, skip 2 sts, repeat from * around, end with 1 sl st in the first sl st.
Heart
With blue yarn, make 1 starting chain.
Row 1: 1 turning ch, 1 sc in the ch of the previous row.
Row 2: 1 turning ch, 3 sc in the sc of the previous row.
Row 3: 1 turning ch, work 5 sc in the 3 sc of the previous row, working 2 sc in the first and last st of the previous row.
Row 4: 1 turning ch, 7 sc from the 5 sc of the previous row, working 2 sc in the first and last st of the previous row.
Row 5: 1 turning ch, 3 sc, 1 sl st, 3 sc.
When finished, work 1 round of sc around the heart.
Gauge
18 dc x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in dc.
Note: the skirt is worked in one piece, top down.
Instructions
With white yarn, make a starting chain of 104 (120) 136 ch and join with 1 sl st into a ring. Work in dc, working the 2nd and 3rd rounds, as well as the last 7 rounds, through the back loop only.
After 24 (28) 32 cm from the starting row, finish the piece.
Finishing
Work the ruffles as described above. Insert the hook into the front loops of the top sts of the following dc rows: 17, 20 and 23 (21, 24 and 27), 25, 28 and 31.
Edge the top of the skirt with blue yarn in arches, easing the edge slightly.
Make 2 hearts as described above.
For the cord, with a 5 mm hook and 2 strands of blue yarn held together, make a chain 110 (115) 120 cm long. Thread the cord through the 2nd round of the skirt starting at center front (over 2 and under 2 dc sts), and sew a heart to each end of the cord.
