Gauge
13 sts x 15 rows = 10 x 10 cm in main pattern.
Important: always work with the yarn held double, using a strand from the inside of the ball together with the outer strand.
Instructions
Using blue-pink yarn held double, chain 39 + 1 turning chain for the bag piece and work in main pattern, following the stripe sequence starting after the first row. After 47 cm = 70 rows from the starting row, finish the piece, but do not cut the yarn of the last color yet.
For the handle with side panels, using green-yellow yarn held double, chain 8 + 1 turning chain and work 114 cm in main pattern.
Finishing
Rejoin the yarn from the bag piece and work one round of single crochet around the entire piece from the wrong side, catching the outer 15 cm of the handle on both sides to form the side panels. Turn the bag right side out.
For the fasteners, make 4 large and 4 small tabs.
For a large tab, using yarn of one color held double, chain 5 + 1 turning chain and work 8 rows in main pattern.
For a small tab, using yarn of one color held double, chain 5 + 1 turning chain and work 6 rows in main pattern.
Attach 2 fasteners with large tabs to the front of the bag, and 1 fastener with small tabs to each side panel.
