Patterns and Charts

Main Pattern

Work in single crochet (sc), starting each round or row worked back and forth with 1 turning chain instead of the 1st sc, and closing each round with 1 slip stitch.

To increase 1 stitch, work 2 sc into the same base stitch; for each decrease, work 2 sc together.

Stripe Sequence

* 3 rounds in dark green, 2 rounds in light green, and 1 round in white, repeat from *.

Important! For the felting effect, wash the finished pieces in the washing machine at 50-60°C, adding wool detergent, using a program with a low water level and spin. This will change the color, turning the natural shade into a soft green.

After washing, stretch the wet pieces into shape, pin them on a surface, and leave to dry completely.

If the pieces are still too large, wash them again. Shrinkage is about 30-40%.

Instructions

For the bottom, work a starting chain of 4 ch in white, join with 1 sl st into a ring, and work in the main pattern in rounds as follows:

Round 1: 12 sc into the ring,

Round 2: increase every 2nd stitch = 18 sc,

Round 3: increase every 3rd stitch = 24 sc,

Round 4: increase every 4th stitch = 30 sc,

Round 5: increase every 5th stitch = 36 sc,

Round 6: increase every 6th stitch = 42 sc,

Round 7: increase every 6th stitch = 49 sc,

Round 8: increase every 7th stitch = 56 sc,

Round 9: increase every 8th stitch = 63 sc,

Round 10: increase every 7th stitch = 72 sc,

Round 11: increase every 9th stitch = 80 sc,

Round 12: increase every 10th stitch = 88 sc,

Round 13: work sc without increases,

Round 14: increase every 11th stitch = 96 sc,

Round 15: increase every 12th stitch = 104 sc,

Round 16: increase every 13th stitch = 112 sc,

Round 17: work sc without increases,

Round 18: increase every 14th stitch = 120 sc,

Round 19: work sc without increases,

Round 20: increase every 15th stitch = 128 sc.

Continue working 37 rounds straight without increases in the stripe sequence given above, then divide the work for the handle and continue working on 64 sc back and forth in rows.

Continue in the stripe sequence, decreasing stitches in each row as follows:

Row 1: work every 4th and 5th stitch together = 52 sc,

Row 2: work every 4th and 5th stitch together = 42 sc,

Row 3: work every 9th and 10th stitch together = 38 sc,

Row 4: work every 7th and 8th stitch together = 34 sc,

Row 5: work every 6th and 7th stitch together = 30 sc,

then decrease on both sides in each row 11 x 1 st.

On the remaining 8 sc, work straight for another 25 cm.

Finishing

Join the ends of the handle and crochet 1 round of sc around all edges in dark green.

Wash the bag several more times as described above, using a higher temperature if needed.
