Stitch Patterns and Charts
Main Pattern
Number of stitches is a multiple of 6.
Work according to the stitch chart. Start with the stitches before the repeat, repeat the repeat continuously, and end with the stitches after the repeat. Repeat rounds 1-2 continuously.
Begin each round with 1 turning ch instead of the first sc, or with 4 turning ch instead of the first tr, and end with 1 sl st into the last turning chain.

Stripe Sequence in the Main Pattern
Work 2 rounds each * in beige, brown, sand, and white yarn, repeat from *.
Beige Button
Make a starting chain of 3 ch, join into a ring, and work 8 sc into the ring. Then work 2 more rounds of sc. Pull the stitches together with the working yarn and sew the button to the top of the bag.
Make 2 buttons.
Gauge
15 sts x 9.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in the main pattern.
Instructions
For the base, work a starting chain of 5 ch in beige yarn, join into a ring, and work 8 sc into the ring (= round 1), then continue in sc. Begin each round with 1 ch instead of the first sc, and end with 1 sl st into the first sc.
To shape, increase stitches as follows (work 2 sc into 1 base stitch accordingly):
Round 2: work 2 sc into each sc of the previous round (= 16 sts),
Round 3: work 2 sc into every 2nd stitch (= 24 sts),
Round 4: work 2 sc into every 2nd stitch (= 36 sts),
Round 5: work 2 sc into every 4th stitch (= 45 sts),
Rounds 6, 9, 12, 14, and 16-18: work without increases,
Rounds 7 + 8: work 2 sc into every 5th stitch (= 64 sts),
Round 10: work 2 sc into every 6th stitch (= 74 sts),
Round 11: work 2 sc into every 7th stitch (= 84 sts),
Round 13: work 2 sc into every 8th stitch (= 94 sts),
Round 15: work 2 sc into every 11th stitch (= 102 sts).
Then continue working in the main pattern according to the stripe sequence given above.
After 38 cm = 36 rounds from the start of the stripes, work 5 more rounds in beige yarn in sc.
For the first closure flap, continue working in sc on 6 stitches.
After 7 cm from the start of the flap, make 1 buttonhole (= skip 2 sc with 2 ch), and after 9 cm from the start of the flap, finish the work.
Work the 2nd flap in the same way, 10 cm away.
Fold the bag, fold the flaps over the edge, and sew the buttons in the corresponding spots.
For the handle, make a chain of ch in beige yarn 115 cm long and work 1 row of sc around it in beige, brown, sand, and white yarn. Sew the handle to the wrong side, at the sides, to the top edge of the bag.
