Blue Crochet Shoulder Bag

Blue Crochet Shoulder Bag - worn on shoulder

Finished bag size: 20 x 30 cm, straps 1.5 cm wide and 80 cm long.

You will need to crochet the bag:

  • yarn (100% acrylic, 200 m/100 g) – 150 g light blue;
  • size 3 mm crochet hook;
  • a buckle and four buttons in gunmetal color.

How to Crochet the Bag

For the bottom of the bag, chain 66 sts and work 8 rows of sc from it. You will get a rectangle measuring 30×4 cm. Do not cut the yarn. Work the main body of the bag in the round in the lace pattern following the chart.

At a height of 16 cm from the start of the lace pattern, work 4 rounds of sc around. Then work one round in filet pattern: dc, ch 1, inserting the hook into the next stitch of the chain at the base. This creates a row of open mesh squares. Work three rounds of sc. Once you reach the needed height (20 cm), cut the yarn for the first time during the work. Lay the piece on the table and mark the center of symmetry. Measure 13 cm to the left and to the right of it – these are the strap attachment points.

Straps for the bag: chain 150 sts. Work sc around the chain twice on each side. Sew the strap to the bag together with the buttons.

Flap: chain 56 sts and work 1 round of sc around. Fold in half and sew both layers together on one side from the fold, for a distance of 7 cm. Open out the flap on the right side so that a triangular pocket forms on the wrong side (fig. 1). Sew both edges of the flap to the crocheted bag at a distance of 4.5 cm from the center of symmetry. Sew the buckle onto the finished crocheted bag.
