Size: 38-40
You will need:
- “Irina” yarn (66% cotton, 34% viscose, 334 m/100 g) – 200 g turquoise;
- 2 mm knitting needles;
- 2 mm crochet hook.
2×2 Rib: work alternately k2, p2. On the wrong-side rows, work all sts as they appear.
Stockinette Stitch: knit rows – knit sts, purl rows – purl sts.
“Starflower” Motif: with the crochet hook, chain 8 sts and join into a ring. Work 12 petals, each 40 chain sts.
Front: cast on 100 sts and work 2×2 rib for 2 cm. Then work in stockinette stitch for 28 cm. Shape the armholes on both sides following the chart (decrease 28 sts for each armhole). Bind off the remaining 44 sts all at once. Work 1 row of single crochet and 1 row of picots (every 3 sts) around the top edge of the piece.
Back: cast on 100 sts and work 2×2 rib for 2 cm.
Then work in stockinette stitch for 17 cm. Shape the neckline for the “starflower” motif following the chart. After 8 cm from the start of the neckline shaping, begin shaping the armholes using the same chart.
Straps: crochet a strip following the chart to the needed length. The strip length should include the strap length plus the armhole length.
Finishing: sew the side seams. Sew the straps into the armholes so the seams sit under the arms. Join the straps at the back with two double crochet sts. Sew the “starflower” motif into the resulting diamond opening (see photo).
