Main Pattern
Number of foundation stitches is a multiple of 15 + 1.
Work according to the chart. Start with the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern repeat continuously, and finish with the stitches after the repeat.
Work rows 1–10 once, then repeat rows 4–10 continuously; in doing so, in the 1st and then in every 2nd repeat, right side rows become wrong side rows and vice versa. The crochet chart shows 2 strips of motifs side by side.

Gauge
15 foundation sts x 7.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in main pattern.
Note! Work the back and fronts as a single piece up to the armholes.
Schematic

Instructions
Chain 136 (166) 181 sts + 3 turning chain sts and work in main pattern.
After 48 (45) 42.5 cm from the starting row, first continue working the back over the middle 50 cm = 5 strips of motifs (60 cm = 5 plus ½ strip of motifs on each side) 60 cm = 6 strips of motifs, starting and ending with 1 dc for symmetry; this corresponds to 76 (90) 91 foundation stitches.
After 73 cm from the starting row, finish the piece.
Then continue working the left front, working 1 additional edge dc along the inner edge, and finish at the same height as the back.
Continue working the right front the same way as the left front, but mirrored, and finish at the same height as the back.
Finishing
Sew the shoulder seams, easing in the shoulders for sizes 2 and 3 down to 25 cm (= shoulder seam length 20 (25) 25 cm).
For the armhole bands, pick up 76 (84) 92 stitches on circular needles along the armhole edges, starting and ending at the split point, and work 3 rounds in reverse stockinette stitch, 2 rounds in stockinette stitch, then work in ribbing. After 6 cm of ribbing, bind off in pattern.
Along the lower edge, pick up 181 (221) 241 sts and, starting with 1 wrong side row, work 3 rows in reverse stockinette stitch, 2 rows in stockinette stitch, then work in ribbing, beginning and ending with 1 knit stitch between the edge stitches. After 18 cm of ribbing, bind off in pattern.
Along the front edges, including the band edges, and along the back neckline, pick up 324 (320) 324 sts and, starting with 1 wrong side row, work 3 rows in reverse stockinette stitch and 12 rows in stockinette stitch. On the last row, bind off loosely.
