A lace peplum outfit from the designer collection “Bruges. Lace Fantasies of Summer.”
Size: 42-44
You will need 500g of cotton yarn (100% cotton, 330m/50g) in golden beige; 50g of viscose silk (150m/50g in gold); size 0.9 mm crochet hook.
Make a full-size pattern for the outfit, adjusting it to your individual measurements.
Peplum Top
Begin with the lace yoke. Crochet the yoke of 12 scallops following chart B. It’s best to outline it with tambour embroidery using silk thread right away, after steaming the finished yoke. Work the top in the fan background pattern (chart B) using the raglan method. To do this, divide the yoke into 4 sections: 4 scallops each for the back and front, and 3 for each sleeve. The main fan pattern consists of *2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc*; to make the raglan lines more visible, add increases in the fans (up to 3-4 increases) of 3-4 dc. Make the increases according to the pattern. For the front, work darts by crocheting 3-4 ch instead of 2 between the dc groups. Work the top in rounds up to the armhole line, then leave the sleeve stitches open and continue working the back and front in rounds with the fan pattern down to the waistline. Then attach a straight Bruges lace tape worked from chart C, decreasing for the waistline if needed while attaching the second Bruges tape. Work 2 “loops” together at a time. Next, crochet the lace peplum from chart D, attaching it to the straight tape as you go. Outline the peplum with viscose silk thread. Then finish the sleeves in rounds. Finish the hem with a straight Bruges tape. Edge the tape’s “loops” with 5-6 sc in each loop.
Skirt
Crochet a chain according to the pattern, working the main fan pattern. To increase the size, gradually change the number of chain stitches between the fans, adding first one, then 2 chains to shape the hip line. To taper the skirt, gradually decrease the chain stitches according to the pattern. Finish the skirt hem with a lace insert from chart E, decorating the insert with silk thread according to the chart. Edge the “loops” with sc. Along the waistline, work two straight Bruges tapes, and to fit the waist, if needed, reduce the number of “loops” while attaching the second tape. Edge the “loops” with sc.
Flower Crochet Sequence:
From point 1, chain 6, then work 5 puff stitches under the tape arches in sequence at points 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Chain 4, work 2 tr with a common top into the point where the 5 puff stitches were made, join with a slip stitch into the 2nd chain of the arch, chain 3 for the 2nd part of the arch.
