Instructions

Back and Front

For the center back section, with a 3 mm crochet hook, make a starting chain of 90 ch + 1 turning ch and work in the main pattern, arranging the stitches as follows: start with the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern repeat 8 times, end with the stitches after the repeat. Repeat rows 1-4 of the chart 17 times for the height. Then work rows 1-3 once more.

Then divide the work in the middle and finish both front pieces separately, working 5 pattern repeats each.

For each front piece, work row 4 once. Then repeat rows 1-4 20 times. At the end, work rows 1-3 once.

Right Side Section with Sleeve

Along the right side edge of the crocheted center section, pick up stitches as follows: * along the front side edge, in rows 1-3 of the crochet chart (= rows with sc), work out 4 sts; in row 4 of the chart (= rows with tr), pick up 4 additional sts = 8 sts. Repeat from * 38 times.

Finish as follows: work out 5 sts from the last rows 1-3 of the chart = 309 sts.

Mark the center stitch (= 155th st) for the shoulder decreases.

Work 5 rows in reverse garter stitch (purl) over all stitches, then work in the following sequence: 6 sts garter stitch, 297 sts stockinette stitch, 6 sts garter stitch.

At the same time, for the shoulder shaping, in every following 4th row from the point of division, work the 3 center stitches together with a left-leaning decrease 4 times (= slip 2 sts as if to knit, k1, pass the slipped stitches over).

After 7 (9) 11 cm from the start of the side section, bind off 95 (93) 91 sts on both sides = 111 (115) 119 sts.

For the sleeve side shaping, in every following 2nd row decrease on both sides 2 x 4 sts, 2 x 3 sts, and 3 x 2 sts.

Then in every following 8th row decrease on both sides 7 x 1 st, and then in every following 6th row decrease another 7 x 1 st = 43 (47) 51 sts.

At the end, after 49 (51) 53 cm from the start of the side section, work 18 (14) 10 rows in garter stitch. Then bind off all stitches.

Left Side Section with Sleeve

Work as for the right side section, but pick up the stitches along the left side edge of the crocheted center section.

Front Edging

Crochet around the side edges of the fronts and the neckline edges as follows: Row 1: * along the side edge of rows 1-3 (= rows with sc), work 4 times [alternating 1 sc, 1 ch], then along row 4 (= row with tr), work 2 ch, repeat continuously from *.

Except at the transition to the neckline, work here 3 ch, 1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc, 3 ch. Rows 2-5: 1 turning ch, * 1 sc in the ch of the previous row, skip the sc of the previous row using 1 ch *.

Repeat continuously from * to *, at the back neckline work 3 sc together over 1 sc and 1 ch. Row 6: work crab stitch (sc worked from left to right).

Finishing

Steam the pieces into shape, without touching them with the iron.

Sew on 3 clasps symmetrically: the first clasp 32 cm from the lower edge, the other two spaced 8 cm apart.
