This video tutorial explains how to embroider the rice stitch. To create the so-called rice stitch, you first need to make large cross stitches from left to right. After that, you must stitch your way back to complete the crosses.
Now, using the Danish method, you need to make a row of small stitches that will cross the lower-left legs of the large crosses. Then, moving in the opposite direction, do the same with the lower-right legs of the large crosses. Following similar steps, do the same with the upper legs: first with the left ones, and then, moving backwards, with the right ones.
The final result using the rice stitch embroidery method looks especially beautiful if you use different colored threads for the large crosses and the intersecting stitches.
