Knit SCARF
Instructions: Cast on 5 sts and work in garter stitch, increasing on both sides after the first 2 and before the last 2 stitches every 2nd row, 10 x 1 st (= 25 sts).
Then work 20 rows in garter stitch.
In row 42, work 2 sts together as knit (= 13 sts), then work 16 rows in 1/1 rib and set the stitches aside.
On the wrong side of the work, cast on 13 sts of row 1 of the 1/1 rib to match the pattern and work 16 rows in 1/1 rib; then join all 26 sts on one needle, alternating 1 working st and 1 set-aside st.
Continue working alternately 12 rows in stockinette stitch and 6 rows in garter stitch, increasing on both sides every 2nd row 4 x 1 st, and working the outer 3 stitches in double rib.
Then, starting with row 111, decrease on both sides every 2nd row 4 x 1 st (= 26 sts); in the next row work 2 sts together as knit and on the remaining 13 sts work 16 rows in 1/1 rib.
In the next row, evenly increase 12 sts and work 20 rows in garter stitch, decreasing on both sides every 2nd row 10 x 1 st; bind off the remaining 5 sts.
Crochet the flower following the chart and sew it onto the scarf (see photo).

Knit BERET
Instructions: Cast on 66 sts and work 20 rows in garter stitch, then 12 rows in stockinette stitch, 6 rows in garter stitch.
Next, work 1 row as follows: 6 knit, 1 double decrease (slip 1 st as if to knit, knit 2 sts together, and pass the slipped stitch over), *10 knit, 1 double decrease*, repeat from * to * 4 times, 5 knit.
Work 10 more rows in stockinette stitch, repeating the same decreases every 2nd row, placing them above the previous ones, and set the remaining stitches aside.

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through the set-aside stitches and pull tight; sew the hat seam. Crochet the flower following the chart and sew it onto the hat (see chart).
