This piece is made with a crochet hook.
You will need:
- 400 g of viscose yarn with silver lurex (100 g / 500 m);
- size 3 mm crochet hook.
The piece is worked in an openwork mesh pattern of extended loops that resembles chainmail. See chart 2 for the overall look of the piece and the placement of the stitch patterns. Work the extended loop as follows: pull up a regular chain to a length of 1-1.5 cm, yarn over and draw through the extended loop. Draw another yarn over under the back thread of the extended loop. Pull both loops on the hook through together.
After that, work one more chain, pulling it as tight as possible, and pull up the next long loop from it.
After two extended loops, make an attaching loop over the 6th chain stitch of the foundation chain, work a chain, then work the next pair of extended loops as described above.
Chart 2a:

Begin working from the neckline, chaining a foundation length that is clearly longer than needed, and continue following chart 2a. After finishing section A with one row of “fans,” continue working section B in the mesh pattern of extended loops. The number of rows shown on the chart can be increased or decreased as you like, depending on your gauge and the desired size of the piece. Finish section B with an edging worked around the outer perimeter in “crab stitch” (reverse single crochet) or single crochet with picots.

Chart 2b:

For the next step, work the border following the basic chart 2b, whose width can also be varied. Around the perimeter of the border, you can work an additional row of “shells” (as in section B). Finish the work with an edging of “fans” around the outer edge of the wrap. Then add fringe in the form of tassels.
