Stitch Patterns and Charts
Fan Stitch Pattern
Number of stitches is a multiple of 20 + 1 + 5 turning chain.

Gauge
(Size 3 mm hook) – 24 sts x 11.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Right Piece
With a 3 mm hook, chain 61 + 3 turning chain and work in Fan stitch pattern following the chart. After 11.5 cm from the starting row, following row 11 of the pattern, make the thumb opening: skip the middle 2 groups of stitches of the 1st fan plus 1/2 fan on each side. To do this, in the next row work a chain instead of 2 sc over the middle group of stitches.
Then continue working from the chart. Finish the piece after 20 cm = 23 rows from the starting row. Work 5 rows of Fan stitch pattern around the starting row.
Left Piece
Work as for the right piece, but mirrored.
Finishing
Sew the long edges of each piece together, leaving a 4.5 cm slit open at the bottom. Edge the slits, the top and bottom edges, and the thumb opening of each mitt with 1 row of crab stitch (reverse single crochet).
