Instructions

Skirt

The skirt is worked in the round as a single piece.

Cast on 132 (142) 152 sts with white yarn and work in stockinette stitch. For the side slants, mark the 1st and 66th (71st) 76th stitches (= side seams).

In every 5th round, bind off 9 x 1 st on each side of each marker = 96 (106) 116 sts.

After 15.5 (17.5) 19.5 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off all stitches.

Upper Part of the Skirt

Work 1 round of sc around the top edge of the skirt with white yarn. Then work in “Shells” pattern, leaving 2 sc unworked on each side of each marker = 37 (43) 43 sc for the front and back.

Front

After 5.5 (6.5) 7.5 cm from the start of the “Shells” pattern, leave the middle 17 (19) 21 sts unworked for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

At a height of 10 (11) 12 cm of the “Shells” pattern, finish the piece.

Back

After 3.5 (4.5) 5.5 cm from the start of the “Shells” pattern, divide the work in half and finish the sides separately.

At a height of 10 (11) 12 cm of the “Shells” pattern, finish the piece.

Finishing

Lightly dampen the pieces, pin them out to the schematic measurements, and let dry.

Sew the shoulder seams.

Work 1 round of sc around the neckline with pink yarn, working a button loop on the back.

Work 1 round of sc around the armholes with pink yarn.

For the skirt trim, first work 1 round of sc with white yarn = 108 (114) 120 sc. Then work 2 rounds in “Shells” pattern and finish with 1 round of sc in pink yarn.

With pink yarn, make a chain about 70 (75) 80 cm long and thread it through the waistline 13 (15) 17 cm from the skirt trim as a tie. Finish the ends of the tie as follows: Row 1: chain 5, join into a ring with a sl st. Row 2: chain 1, 9 sc into the ring, 1 sl st into the last chain of the starting chain, finish with 1 sl st.

At the end, lightly steam all seams. Sew on the button.

Note! This dress can be matched with a pink knitted cardigan and hat to make a complete set.
