Work from separate balls of yarn, twisting the strands on the wrong side of the work when changing colors.

Important! For the felting effect, wash the pieces in the washing machine, first at 40°C, then again at 60°C with detergent added, using a program with a low water level and spin.

After washing, stretch the wet pieces into shape, pin them onto a backing, and leave until completely dry. If the pieces come out too large, wash them again.

Shrinkage is 30-40%.

Instructions

With orange yarn, chain 38 sts and work in the main pattern as follows: work 42 rows in orange for the front of the bag, 8 rows for the bottom, and 42 rows for the back of the bag, then 16 rows for the flap; then work the heart motif over the middle 28 stitches, and work 6 more rows in orange.

After 142 rows from the starting row, finish the piece.

For the side pieces, chain 7 sts in orange, then work 42 rows in the main pattern.

For the handle, chain 7 sts in orange and work 158 rows in the main pattern.

Finishing

Edge the heart motif with white yarn, working 2 rounds of sc. Sew the side pieces between the front and back panels of the bag, then attach the handle.

Work single crochet along the edges of the handle, the flap, and the top edge of the bag using orange yarn.

Wash the bag as described above, stretch it into shape, pin it onto a backing, and leave until completely dry.
