Gauge

Instructions

Using a double strand of green yarn and a 4 mm hook, make a chain of 15 sts + 1 turning chain and work sc in rounds. To do this, starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, work 14 sc along the starting chain, then work 3 sc into the last chain (= 1st curve), turn the work, work 13 sc along the back side of the starting chain, and work 2 sc into the last stitch (together with the 1st sc = 2nd curve). End this and every following round with 1 slip stitch into the first sc.

Note! Mark the stitch before the first and after the last stitch of each curve. Continue working in sc, increasing on the 3 curved sections as follows (the stitch counts refer only to the stitches within each curve):

Round 2: double every stitch = 6 sts

Round 3: double every 2nd stitch = 9 sts

Round 4: double every 3rd stitch = 12 sts

Round 5: double the 1st, 5th and 9th stitches = 15 sts

Round 6: double every 5th stitch = 18 sts

Round 7: double every 6th stitch = 21 sts

Round 8: double every 7th stitch = 24 sts

Round 9: double every 8th stitch = 27 sts

Round 10: double every 9th stitch = 30 sts

Round 11: double every 10th stitch = 33 sts

In rounds 12–17, continue increasing following the established pattern = 51 sts in each curve.

After round 17, there will be 128 sts total. Continue without further increases.

After 43 rounds from the starting round, finish with 1 round of crab stitch (= work sc from left to right).

Handles

For each handle, using a single strand of green yarn and a 3 mm hook, make a chain of 6 sts + 1 turning chain and work in sc. End after about 56 cm from the starting row. Make the second handle the same way.

Finishing

Sew the handles to the bag about 6 cm from the center. Sew 11 beads evenly spaced onto each handle.

Make 4 large flowers in light blue yarn, 2 large flowers in pink yarn, and 4 small flowers each in yellow and blue yarn. Sew them on as desired or as shown in the photo, on both sides of the bag.

Sew the remaining beads into the centers of the flowers and scatter them across the bag.
