Instructions
Cutting
(Add 1 cm seam allowances!)
Cut 1 strip measuring 14 x 89 cm from the velvet; cut 1 strip measuring 6 x 85 cm from the fusible interfacing.
Wavy Band
With silver yarn, make a starting chain of 4 ch + 5 ch for the 1st arch and crochet the band according to chart 1, starting from arrow A. For the turns, work chain arches accordingly, joining them to each other with 1 dc to secure the curves. These will define the line of the band.
Before the sc at the start of each row, always work 1 extra ch.
The numbers indicate the rows. Work rows 1-26 once, then repeat rows 5-26 ten times, and then repeat rows 25-26 once more. Cut the yarn.
Flowers
With green yarn, make a starting chain of 5 ch for each flower, join it into a ring with 1 slip stitch, and crochet flower A according to chart 2, flower B according to chart 3, and flower C according to chart 4.
Instead of the 1st dc of each round, work 3 turning ch; before the sc at the start of each round, work 1 extra ch. End each round with 1 slip stitch into the corresponding starting stitch. The numbers indicate the rounds.
For flower A, work rounds 1 and 2 once, working round 2 with purple yarn.
For flower B, work rounds 1-4 once, working rounds 2-4 with orange yarn, making sure to work the front post slip stitch in round 3 around the double crochet worked together in the previous round, and the front post slip stitch in round 4 around the front post slip stitch of the previous round, working it toward yourself.
For flower C, work rounds 1-6 once, working rounds 2-6 with pink yarn, making sure to work the front post sc of round 3 behind the dc of round 1, and the front post sc of round 5 around the front post sc of round 3.
Crochet a total of 8 flower A’s, 6 flower B’s, and 3 flower C’s.
Finishing
Overcast the raw edges of the velvet strip with a narrow zigzag or overlock stitch. Fold the strip in half lengthwise with right sides together and sew along 1 short side and 1 long side.
Turn the piece right side out. Insert the interfacing into the piece.
Fold the open short edges inward by 1 cm and sew the edges together by hand with small stitches.
Now insert the short side where the interfacing does not reach the seam under the bar of the buckle, fold it back about 2 cm, and sew it in place.
At 2 and 5 cm from the end of the 2nd short side, punch 2 eyelets in the middle of the strip to secure the buckle.
Finally, sew the crocheted wavy band onto the middle of the strip using metallic sewing thread. Using clear thread, sew the flowers onto the belt evenly, as shown in the photo, or arranged as you like.
