Pattern Description: Brown Crochet Bag
Size

You Will Need
- Yarn (100% polyacrylic, 50 m/50 g) – 500 g gray-brown
- Wooden beads
- Size 6 mm crochet hook
Patterns and Charts
Main Pattern
Work sc in rounds, inserting the hook only through the back loop each time. Begin each round with 1 turning chain instead of the first sc, and end with 1 sl st into the turning chain.
Flower
Make a starting chain of 2 ch and work 5 sc into the 1st chain. In the next round, work 3 sc into each stitch and finish with 1 sl st.
Gauge
10 sts x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
For the bottom, make a starting chain of 20 ch and work sc around both sides of the chain, working 3 sc into the 1st and last chain (= 3 corner sts) = 42 sc (= round 1).
Then continue in the main pattern as follows:
Round 2: work 3 sc into the 1st and 3rd corner sts again = 50 sc,
Rounds 3-10: work 3 sc into each middle corner st again (8 increases per round) = 114 sts,
Rounds 11-16: in each round, work 2 sc together at the corners = 90 sc,
Rounds 17-19: work straight without decreases,
Rounds 20-22: after every 5th sc, work 1 ch and skip 1 st,
Round 23: work without decreases,
Rounds 24-30: in each round, work 2 sc together at the corners = 62 sc.
For the handle, attach yarn to one side of the bag and work a chain of 60 ch, then attach it with 1 sc to the opposite corner point.
Now work sc around both sides of the chain and attach it with 1 sl st to the edge of the bag.
Make the second handle on the other side of the bag in the same way.
Finishing
Crochet 4 flowers and sew them onto the front of the bag next to each other at the height of round 20. Sew 1 wooden bead into the center of each flower.
Now cut about 7 m of yarn from the skein and twist it into a 4-ply cord. Thread the cord through the topmost round of chains.
