The first step required for this embroidery technique is to make a diagonal stitch of a standard cross. We will bring this stitch from the lower-left corner of the square to the upper-right corner.
After that, you need to make a half-stitch that will go from one of the corners of the square to its center. Let’s choose the upper-right corner for this. Our first fractional stitch (quarter stitch) is ready!
Now, following the same logic, we will make three more fractional stitches so that they outline a larger square. This results in a very interesting pattern. Now you can always use this technique in your own embroidery projects.
