Materials you will need:
- Glue (or glue stick)
- Scissors
- Colored paper
- Drawing compass (or a round template)
- Thread or string
Step-by-step instructions:
- Let’s prepare the paper circles. You will need to take your drawing compass. The size of the circle you draw will determine the final size of your paper ball. Draw a circle on the paper and then cut it out, as shown in the photo.
- Repeat step 1 until you have exactly 25 circles.
- Take one paper circle and fold it in half. Using a pencil and a ruler, draw guidelines on the folded piece. Apply glue to the specific spots as shown in the photo.
- Press the sides of the folded circle together so they stick securely.
- Now we can start assembling our paper ball. Take your folded pieces and apply glue to the outer spots (following the alternate pattern shown in the photo). Continue gluing and stacking all 25 pieces on top of each other.
- Once all the pieces are stacked and the glue is dry, carefully open the paper stack to form a sphere. Apply glue to the final connecting points, as shown in the photo, and insert your hanging thread.
- Connect both ends of the expanded stack to close the sphere.
- Your beautiful paper honeycomb ball is ready!
