Free Download Pattern Maker for Cross Stitch (English & Multi-language)

Pattern Maker is the ultimate software for cross-stitching. As the name suggests, its main purpose is to help you easily create and edit embroidery patterns. The program is also adapted for machine embroidery and features a highly convenient, multifunctional interface.

It should be noted right away that the Pattern Maker software only works on the Windows operating system on any device (PC, laptop, tablet). In other words, Pattern Maker will NOT run natively on Android or iOS!

However, there are a few ways to open a cross-stitch pattern on a smartphone or tablet running Android or iOS:

1. Export the cross-stitch pattern from Pattern Maker into a graphic file (image) and send it to your device. Alternatively, you can just take screenshots of the entire chart or its specific parts.
2. Install a virtual PDF printer (for example, Infix PDF Editor). Then, in Pattern Maker, go to File » Print and choose to print as a PDF file. Send the resulting ***.pdf chart to your device.
3. Install the Cross Stitch Saga app on your Android / iOS device (official website » crossstitchsaga.ru). It perfectly reads various cross-stitch pattern formats, namely: Pattern Maker v.4 (XSD, PXSD), XSPro Platinum (XSP), PC Stitch v.6-10 (PAT), WinStitch, and MacStitch (OXS). Please note that the Cross Stitch Saga app is paid, costing around $12.

More About the Cross-Stitch Software

One of the main advantages of Pattern Maker is its user-friendly interface. It is highly intuitive, even for beginners. The program includes 7 basic stitches and 73 specialty stitches. If this set is not enough, you can create your own custom stitch type, name it, and use it in the future.

Another important advantage is the ability to save patterns in formats readable by embroidery machines. The available formats are: PES, HUS, PCS, EMD, JEF, SEW, CSD, XXX, DST, and EXP. Patterns made with the seven basic stitches can be saved in these formats. If the resulting pattern is larger than the specified hoop size, the program will automatically split it into several parts, saving each under its own name.

To create your embroidery, you can use a rich color palette where the gamuts correspond to real thread manufacturers. The color scheme can be edited according to your preferences. The maximum size of a cross-stitch pattern is 999×999 stitches. You can create a new design or edit an existing one simply using your mouse. In one saved document, you can combine several patterns, which is very convenient for large-scale projects.

You can invent a new pattern by drawing it from scratch or generating it based on ready-made images. The software supports both vector and raster image formats. To create a pattern from a photo, there is an Image Importing Wizard that guides you step-by-step to make beautiful stitched portraits. The program also allows you to add text to the finished pattern, offering 50 built-in fonts. If this is not enough, you can create your own alphabet.

Pattern Maker Features:

1. Specify any number of colors, sizes, and stitch types;
2. Set the width of the finished pattern in stitches, inches, or centimeters;
3. Adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation of the image before importing;
4. Choose your preferred embroidery floss brand (the software includes color palettes from all famous thread manufacturers: DMC, Anchor, Madeira, Danish Flower Thread, Riolis, Caron Collection, Gamma, etc.).

The program is designed for Windows 10 / 8 / 7 / XP.

The installation is simple and straightforward. You can immediately choose the language interface (English or Russian) that is comfortable for you. The Portable version of the program can be launched directly without installation, meaning you can even run it from a USB flash drive on any computer.

Pattern Maker is designed to open, edit, and create embroidery patterns in electronic format. The default pattern extension is .xsd.

In previous versions, you had to perform a ton of tricky manipulations to apply cracks or language packs. Now, all the necessary components fit into a single installation file. Download. Unpack. Install. But before doing so, make sure to completely uninstall any old version of Pattern Maker if you had it previously installed.
