This tall hat looks like an Eastern turban, making you look like a muse of a modern Vermeer. It is knitted quite quickly, in the round from the top down, then back and forth, with extra stitches for the band and the “bow”

  • Row 2: knit.

Repeat the last 2 rows 5 more times. Bind off.

Finishing

Thread the starting tail through a tapestry needle. Weave it through the stitches around the crown opening. Pull tightly to close the opening, then secure the thread. Fold the brim to the right side.

With the bound-off edges together, fold the pieces together at the base and sew securely. Fold the right side of the edge over to the right, then sew the top point to the brim. Fold the left side of the edge over to the left, then sew the top point to the brim.
