Pattern Description for “Crochet Bag with Round Handles”

You Will Need
- Yarn (100% cotton, 70 m/50 g) – 400 g light green and 200 g yellow
- 4 mm crochet hook
- 2 round bamboo bag handles
Note! Work with a double strand of yarn only.
Stitch Patterns and Charts
Main Pattern
Number of starting sts is a multiple of 4 + 1.
Work from the chart. Start from the stitches at arrow A, work to the center stitch, then work the 2nd half without the center stitch as a mirror image.
Work rows 1–3 once, then continue the pattern following the established sequence.
Gauge
12.5 starting sts x 6.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Since the work is done in different directions, some measurements were taken from the finished piece.

Instructions
For the 1st bag piece, with yellow yarn, make a chain of 53 ch + 3 turning ch and work in main pattern.
After 3 rows from the starting row, continue working with green yarn.
After 9 rows from the starting row, continue working straight on the center 53 sts only.
After 15 rows = 23 cm from the starting row, finish the piece.
Work the 2nd bag piece the same way.
Finishing
Work single crochet along the top edges of the bag with a double strand of matching color for 7 cm; work single crochet along the remaining edges of the bag with a double strand of green yarn.
To attach the bag handles, with yellow yarn work 2 rows of treble crochet around the starting row of the pieces. Sew the handles between them: fold the 2nd row around the handle to the wrong side and sew in place.
Spray the bag with starch spray and let dry.
