Beaded Fringe

Instructions
Back Piece with Flap
With black and turquoise auxiliary thread held together, work a starting chain of 65 ch + 2 turning ch, then work in the “Shell” pattern according to the chart.
Start with the stitches before the pattern repeat, work the repeat 7 times, and end with the stitches after the repeat. Finish the piece after 35 cm.
Front Piece
Work the same as the back piece, but work the “Shell” pattern for only 23 cm, then work 6 more rows in the main stitch.
Handle
With black thread, work a starting chain of 8 ch and join with 1 slip stitch to form a ring. Work 1 sc into each chain. Continue working sc in a spiral, inserting the hook through the back loop only.
Finish the piece after 107 cm.
Make 5 flowers.
Finishing
Place the front and back pieces together, matching the bottom edges, and join the base and side edges with reverse single crochet (= sc worked from left to right).
Roll the felt strip lengthwise and sew with a few stitches to secure. Insert the felt roll into the crocheted handle, then sew the ends of the handle together, catching the felt inside. Sew the handle ends to the bag on the wrong side along the side seams.
Make the bead fringe according to chart 1, and sew it onto the bag with clear thread along the edge of the flap.
Sew the 5 flowers onto the flap of the bag, each secured with one iridescent bead.
